After many years in the planning, the project for works to the A361, spearheaded by Pilton Parish Council, finally came to fruition in 2013.
The work started in the February, and was completed by April 2013.
It included creating a pavement for people to walk on the south side of the road and a designated crossing point (but not a Zebra crossing) to access a bus shelter on the north side.
The digging exposed a limestone pavement.
The Parish Council Chairman at the time was Sandra Howe, She resigned the next year, in April 2014.
Parish Council Clerk was Jean Warry, who served from October 1978 to April 2015.
